Licensed real estate agents are members of the National Association of Realtors and are called realtors. Realtors help navigate buyers and/or sellers by navigating them through the complexities of real estate transactions. Real estate laws vary from state to state; however, most states require a real estate attorney to process closing transactions involving the sell of real estate.
The National Association of Realtors reported that approximately 82% of home sells are the result of agent contacts through referrals, previous clients, family, and friends. Realtors also have access to detailed property information entered into the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Another useful benefit of a realtor is utilizing their vast contacts which consist of title companies, contractors, lenders, and home inspectors.
Realtors assist sellers, buyers, and renters by performing, but not limited to, the following:
1. Assist buyers with determine buying power. (How much property they can afford)
2. Provide objectivity on properties
3. Coordinate and host showings
4. Negotiate the sell/purchase price of properties
5. Perform market analysis and list property in MLS
Realtors guide clients through the complex process of home buying and selling from the beginning to the end. They are paid a commission by the seller at closing of the transaction. Realtors make the process of selling, buying, or renting, more enjoyable for their client.
